Part 4.1 Bending the corner even more

So, about a year after the Vis Vires Infinitus, preparations and planning for the fourth album started. During promotion of VVI, Matti P already had composed couple of songs, but not many. Those few however, sounded quite…progressive. Matti P was little bit confused himself that what is happening. Why all the songs tend to get lenghty and why did the rhytm changes follow after another? Nobody knew, but as the the writing work really kicked off, more and more if these complicated songs were coming.

During the 2016-2017, Matti P kept pushing his composing skills limit to the max and was able to squeeze out 13 songs. Couple of the last ones were bit more straightforward than the others because the album was forming out to be quite “dark” and Matti P thought the album really needs couple of happy-joy-joy-songs as well. And in the end process, two tracks were melted together for form the “Scream”. As Matti P started listening all the songs, he quickly realized that all of these songs can be placed to their corresponding tracks quite easily. First and the last track were so obvious, as well as the position of slow song on the “end-mid”. So the rest of the song positions were easy to figure out.  And as that was done, the album sounded like one really long 70 minutes song. And that obviously resulted in idea of making a theme album…
